Course informations Safety Camps Lago di Garda
Meeting point is the camping ground “Lombardi” (www.campinglombardi.com) in Malcesine, next to the hotel “Villa Florida” and the “Speckstube” at 01.00 p.m. at the white crew tent. There we will do the equipment check, theory and watching the landing field (approx. 3-4 hours).
Camping Lombardi is always the meeting point for theory and video analysis. Everywhere at lago di garda is a lack of parking spaces, so better make driving communities. You can park a the campingground for 4 Euros per day. There is another parking ground for 6 Euros per day close to the landing field. At the landing field is NO parking.

From north: drive the italian freeway A-22 and take the exit Rovereto SÜD/ Lago di garda. Take the main road 249 to Mori -> Torbole -> Malcesine
From south/west: drive the Italian freeway A-4. Take the exit: Peschiera del Garda. Drive on the main road 249 to Bardolino -> Garda -> Malcesine.

Overview
Last infos before the trainings starts
Please inform yourself on our website www.paragliding-academy.com, if the training will be held. We will put a News on the startsite of our website at least one day before official training start at 12.00 p.m. WE WILL NOT CALL YOU. If you don´t have internet access you can drop a shormessage to the safety instructor on: 0049/176/61563504
If you can´t do your guaranteed flights or the training is cancelled, you will get your money back (averaged to the flights you made) according to our General Terms and Conditions Act (AGB´s)
You will get a radio and life jacket from us. If you have, please bring some earplugs (MP3 player) or headset and a ski mask (balaclava) or bonnet if possible. This will reduce the wind noises at the radio under the helmet, so we have a better communication.
At the landing field its usually pretty warm and you can wear T-Shirt and short trousers. At the takeoff it can become pretty cold, so also bring warm clothes with you.
Action
Normaly we will make no flights at the first day. We will meet at 1.00 p.m and make briefing, landing field visit (it´s worth it ;-) ), equipment check and theory. The next days we make 1-3 training flights (depending on the weather conditions) and if possible a chill out evening flight.
We found out, that even for trained pilots it´s tricky to keep up concentration after the second flight. It´s best to do two training flights and a soaring flight in the evening. A normal training round (1 flight each pilot) takes approx. 2-3 hours. Pilots take off in intervals of 10min. The better you land and the less the instructor has to help you, the faster we can go on with the other pilots. The course ends at the last day of the official date of the course (see schedule) at 01.00 p.m. If we haven´t finished all of our guaranteed flights (and only in this case), we can go on with training until the evening if you don´t have to leave earlier.
Of course you can go on flying for your own but be carefull: A rescue boat is only available at the official training times. Water can be very dangerous without a lifejacket and a rescue boat. Wearing a lifejacket is always mandatory at every flight over the lake.
Please wait at the landing field after landing. We will finish 6-7 pilots. Then we make a short brake and a briefing, where we can talk about the flown manouvers of each pilot. After that, we drive you back with our shuttle to the cablecar.
Accomodation
Closest hotel: Villa Florida. Also very close to the camping ground “Lombardi”
Hotel Garni San Carlo and Hotel Casa Rabagno as well as Garni Orchidea
Garni Casa Benamati, Hotel Al Molino or: Casa Garni Chincarini (Tel. 0039/045/7400375). Very easy and cheap appartementes also close to the Campingground: MARTINI Garni
All these hotels are about 5-10min walk away from the landing field.
Camping grounds:
Camping Lombardi (where the crew tent and meeting point is) , Camping Campagnola, Camping Tonini (the last camping ground is right above the landing field but directly on the main road)
If you stay at another hotel we will pick up up in the morning if the hotel is between the Camping ground Lombardi and the Cablecar. Otherwise you have to come by yourself (have a look at the map above).

Prices for cablecar and schedule
4 ride ticket to Monte Baldo costs 30 Euro plus 5 Euro deposite. First ride up is 8.15 a.m. After, every 30min. Last trip up in the evening is 6.30 p.m./ in September 5.30 p.m./ at October 4.30 p.m.
There is a tourist bus running (mid of april to 5th of October) every hour at XX.30 at the Campingground Lombardi and XX.53 at the landing field. The bus will make a break between 2.00p.m. and 5.00p.m

Amount of guaranteed flights
We guarantee at least 3 flights at our 5-/6- day course with 1300m height difference and at least one “Chill Out Flight” or Groundhandling Instruction at Molveno at our 6 day course (one flight at lago di garda equals 2-4 flights at most of the other spots around Europe, where you can do safety courses). If you can´t do your guaranteed flights you will get your money back (averaged to the flights you made) according to our General Terms and Conditions Act (AGB´s)
Insurance
Please contract a travel insurance for your trip. The Paragliding Academy will not pay you money back in case of accident, leaving the course because of personal reasons, not coming to the booked course and so on. Please read therefore our General Terms and Conditions Act (AGB´s. You can get a translation by dropping us a mail to: info@paragliding-academy.com)
